There are two options for submission. Authors are given the flexibility to choose their preferred submission:
- Submission for presentation only - Participants are required to submit a short abstract up to 200 words. The short abstract will not be published. An abstract must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx only) format through our online submission system by 10 August 2020 (new deadline). A Microsoft Word template is available to help in the preparation of abstracts:

- Submission for presentation and publication - Participants are required to submit 2-pages extended abstract. The extended abstract will be published in the proceeding with e-ISBN, which will be indexed in Google Scholar. In addition, the proceedings will also be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index™ (CPCI) for indexing consideration in WoS coverage. Authors may use www.quillbot.com or any other available tools for grammar checking and paraphrasing the sentences to avoid plagiarism.
*The extended abstract submitted for AMS'20 will also be published as one of the tracks in MERD'20 Proceedings.
*All authors should be aware that an abstract will be rejected without any further consideration if it is found that there is an in-compliance with the MERD'20 typesetting format (including references).

All authors with accepted short or extended abstracts are required to present their research findings through POSTER (MERD'20) or ORAL (AMS'20) presentations. The best quality poster will be awarded for "BEST POSTER PRESENTATION AWARD", whereas the best quality extended abstract will be awarded for "BEST PAPER AWARD".

- The poster presentation will be conducted ONLINE through WEBEX on 16 December 2020. The tentative and link will be provided in due course.
- Presentation is only 5 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A session (total of 10 minutes).
- Participants are prohibited from screenshotting or recording any part of the presentation (including the audio).
Guideline for Oral Presentation (For AMS'20-automotive track only)
- The presentation will be conducted ONLINE through WEBEX on 16 December 2020. The tentative and link will be provided in due course.
- Presentation is only 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A session (total of 15 minutes).
- Participants are prohibited from screenshotting or recording any part of the presentation (including the audio).
The authors with accepted short or extended abstracts are encouraged to submit their optional full paper for possible publication in our supporting journals, indexed in Scopus/WoS. Papers submitted will go through the standard peer-review managed by the journal’s editors and appear in either regular or special issues as they are accepted and ready for publication. The possibility of inclusion is very high. The deadline for full paper submission is 15 December 2020.

Please follow the instructions below before submitting the manuscript:
- The manuscript needs to be improved based on input from the extended abstract review process, a rule of thumb is that at least 40% of the content should be new and expanded.
- The manuscripts for the special issues must have at least 20 citations (references) + 20% of the citations from the relevant journal articles (Evergreen / Mechanics & Industry).
- To prevent plagiarism, the original title of the extended abstract should be modified, and the whole sentence of the manuscript must be rephrased. The rule of thumb is that the similarity index is must be less than 20%.
- Authors are advised to indicate that their works have initially been accepted and presented at the MERD'20/AMS'20, in the "Acknowledgements" section of their manuscripts and in the 'cover letter' or 'note to the editor'.
